Come back for more nuggets on the healthy living track that I have navigated thus far in my 32 years.

To whet appetites: come back to find tales of a field-hockey playing, sporty teenager; an early twenties of depression, significant weight gain followed by a 40 pound weight-loss; and a later twenties to early thirties story of the search for life’s balance.

FYI – though Polly is not the name on my birth certificate, nor the name I use in my professional life; it is my name. It started as a nickname in the baby times and has stuck. Anyone who met me before I was about 4 (friends, family, etc.) have only ever known me by Polly or ‘Pol.’ I like it a lot; it has very comforting associations. Thanks Dad.

See you soon.

Ooh, lest I forget, all of the piccies that will be spread liberally throughout my blog posts derive from the Artist in our household; my husband. The Dudeezin their myriad incarnations are all his (thanks, husband, for letting me constantly request new ones).

P.S. It behooves me to state clearly the following as I am committed to the phenomenon of responsible blogging and responsible interweb reading:

When reading health articles, blogs and websites, I believe it is critical to not read and absorb information at a single first glance. Instead, to take perspectives from multiple sources before deciding, on our own terms, how it might relate to our situation. I will read some article from a magazine; then do a Google search for a different take; then, perhaps, discuss it with my doctor; or chat about it with my mum over a virtual Skype cup of tea. Most pieces of writing are subjective, after all (including mine); an abundance of context is critical.
