Snow Scoop – Part One…

‘Sbeen ages, ain’t it?
Well, I have been chilling (quite literally) with the familia here in Englandia for the past week. If you happen to read/view news from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland you may have noted that we are snow-covered.
As t happens, we were rather fortunate to land at Heathrow airport in London on the day that we did. Had we made it a day later; we may well still not have made it to England and may well still be en route (you mean with fighter jet refueling mid-air, Polly?). It turns out that snowfall and one of the world’s busiest airports do not mix.
This is Year Two of Snow Everywhere Phenomena (as I like to call it). For the sake of perspective: in all my formative British years (zero through 23-ish) I can recall at most 3 instances of snowfall that actually stayed on the ground long enough to be worthy of going out and playing around in it. We just don’t get that much snow and we rarely get prolonged sub-zero-celsius temperatures.
Year One of said phenomena was last December when we were snowed in at the parents’ abode for the entire duration of our holiday (not that I complained about that – it was like 11 and a half months of hanging out time squashed into a couple of weeks). Unfortunately, the words ‘climate’ and ‘change’ spring alarmingly to mind (and those of many scientific pundits).
On a local scale, Polly tries to make the best of the weather. I put me Blue with red polka dot wellies on and jump around in the freezing cold outside looking for fresh snow to dive into with my small footprints.
Also too, me and the husbandia have gone ‘up town’ (pronounced ‘ooop town’ in these northern england parts) on many occasions as it is fun.
Apologies for the absence of Polly Posts but in my defense; I have been doing tons of thinking since arriving en Angleterre about all manner of things health and un-health scoop related…
